Chapter 27: The Beast Taming Sect Trio
Translation by: Weebsread👹
What the—?!
Jiang Qian’s eyes narrowed to sharp points. Without a moment’s hesitation, he willed his flying sword to veer away, barely dodging the incoming fireball.
The three girls beside him were also targeted, but each managed to evade in time, their reactions swift and decisive.
Once they regained their balance atop their flying swords, all four shot wary glances toward the direction the attack had come from.
There, they spotted three disciples from the Beast Taming Sect, each flanked by a demonic beast. The trio was in the midst of battling a Fifth Rank demonic beast—a Rainbow Antlered Deer!
Jiang Qian recognized them instantly.
“Senior Brother, aren’t those the same Beast Taming Sect disciples we ran into back in Zheng Ning City? What are they doing here?” Chen Xiaoxiao exclaimed, her voice brimming with surprise.
Bai Piaoxue added, “They’re probably after that Rainbow Antlered Deer and chased it all the way here.”
She cast a lingering look at the demonic beast. “The Rainbow Antlered Deer is a rare find. Gentle by nature, but its blood can neutralize any poison, and its flesh strengthens the body… In short, every part of it is priceless,” she finished, almost reverently.
No sooner had she spoken than another volley of fireballs blazed through the air, aimed directly at their group.
This time, Jiang Qian caught the sneering faces of the Beast Taming Sect disciples below. It was clear these attacks were no coincidence—these disciples were doing this on purpose.
The first fireball hadn’t been accidental, either.
“Hahaha! Who would’ve thought we’d bump into them here of all places? Look at them panic—what a joke!” one Beast Taming Sect disciple hollered, his voice dripping with ridicule.
Another disciple let out a loud guffaw. “Yeah, it’s hilarious! I can’t believe our luck!”
But the third disciple remained silent, his brow furrowed with unease. He muttered, “Aren’t those Azure Mountain Sect disciples? Picking a fight could cause trouble between our sects.”
“Azure Mountain Sect? Maybe, but who cares? Look at them—they’re clearly outer sect nobodies. We’re inner sect disciples of the Beast Taming Sect,” the second replied, full of swagger.
“Exactly! Even if we got rid of them, the Azure Mountain Sect wouldn’t start a war over a few outer disciples.”
“…If you say so. Fine.”
—
Meanwhile, Chen Xiaoxiao fumed, her rage building with each attack. “Those Beast Taming Sect bastards are clearly picking a fight! If I don’t teach them a lesson today, I’ll change my surname!”
Bai Piaoxue’s gaze was frosty, killing intent flickering in her eyes.
As for Jiang Zixuan, her entire aura blazed—real flames seemed to dance around her, coiling ever higher in anticipation.
Seated calmly on his flying sword, Jiang Qian met the mocking glares below with cold, steady eyes.
A piece of jade quietly appeared in his right hand as he fastened it to his belt.
“Enough is enough. Let’s put an end to this,” he said calmly.
With a flash, the three girls shot forward like arrows released from a bow.
The Beast Taming Sect disciples scoffed at the charging girls.
“Just three girls? What are they going to do?”
“Don’t kill them—look. Each of them’s a beauty. Wouldn’t it be a shame to waste that? I say we catch them instead.”
“Hahaha, not bad! All right, let’s play with them a bit,” another grinned.
With a flick of their wrists, each disciple summoned a Third Rank demonic beast to charge at the girls.
But in the blink of an eye—their bravado shattered.
One demonic beast was frozen solid and shattered into icy shards as it hit the ground.
Another was roasted to nothing but ash in an instant.
The last was luckier, if that word could apply to carnage—it was beaten bloody, its hide stripped raw by a snapping whip.
As the three girls drew closer, the sneers on the disciples’ faces were wiped away, replaced by shock and growing terror.
Frantic, they tried to summon back the three Fourth Rank demonic beasts they’d left behind to pin down the Rainbow Antlered Deer.
But no matter how they called, not a single beast returned.
“Senior Brother, look over there—”
“Look at what? We’re in mortal danger—focus! Why aren’t the beasts coming?!”
“No, seriously, look!”
“What the—?!” The lead disciple turned his head and froze: a Northwind Ice Wolf, a Fifth Rank beast, was currently tearing into their remaining demonic beasts with savage force.
Worse, seated atop the Northwind Ice Wolf was none other than that young man—Jiang Qian.
“H-he…he’s tamed a Northwind Ice Wolf?!” the disciple stammered.
All three went pale. As Beast Taming Sect members, none knew better how nearly impossible it was to tame such a beast.
In their entire sect, only the Sect Master and Young Sect Mistress possessed one—and even then, the Young Sect Mistress’s wolf had been raised from a pup, not captured in the wild.
Despair washed across their faces.
Chen Xiaoxiao strode toward them, whip whistling through the air in a lazy arc, a dangerous smile on her lips. “Weren’t you feeling all high and mighty just now? Come on, let’s see how much backbone you have left!”
“You can’t kill us! We’re inner sect disciples of the Beast Taming Sect!” one pleaded, his bravado slipping. “If you do—our sect will hunt you down. Your Azure Mountain Sect won’t protect you!”
The three girls paused, weighing their options. The lead disciple saw their hesitation and swelled with arrogance once more.
“Hahaha! Scared now, aren’t you? If you grovel and beg, maybe we’ll let it slide.”
“And don’t forget—you just killed our third- and Fourth Rank beasts, and scared away the Rainbow Antlered Deer. You’ll need to compensate us. Let’s be generous—ten billion Zixuan Coins will do.”
He had barely finished before Chen Xiaoxiao, shaking with rage, lashed out, her whip cracking across his face.
He yelped, clutching his swollen cheek, glaring at them with hatred. “Y-you dare hit me?! You’re finished!”
“Finished? Who do you think you are? Just another inner sect disciple from the Beast Taming Sect, and you dare threaten us?”
She jabbed her finger toward Jiang Qian. “Do you even realize who he is? The Chief Disciple of Azure Mountain Sect!”
“And as for these two—well, their identities are even more frightening!” She pointed at Bai Piaoxue and Jiang Zixuan. “One is the Holy Maiden of Azure Mountain Sect, the other is the Sect Master’s own daughter!”
At those words, the lead disciple’s legs gave out—he crumpled to the ground, quickly followed by his companions.
They had thought they were bullying outer disciples—never imagining these four were among the highest ranks of the Azure Mountain Sect.
“I—I was only running my mouth…” the man whimpered, on the verge of begging for mercy—only to be frozen in place, encased in ice, transformed into a brittle statue.
His two companions saw what became of him and turned to flee, tripping over one another in their rush.
In that instant—one disciple was incinerated by fire, reduced to ash; the other was mercilessly whipped, his body torn until he collapsed in a pool of blood.
When women lose their tempers, even demons would run and hide.
Not one of the three Beast Taming Sect disciples made it out alive.
Jiang Qian gazed at the corpses—especially the one Chen Xiaoxiao had slain. The ferocity of it sent shivers down his spine.
Who would’ve guessed that the always sweet, gentle Chen Xiaoxiao could become so terrifying when angered?
With the troublesome trio dealt with, Jiang Qian and his companions prepared to depart.
But just as they turned to go, Jiang Qian suddenly stopped. He swept his gaze toward the deep forest and called out coolly, “You can come out now. I already know you’re there.”
