Im Not Your Usual Villain - Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Lin Feng’s Poisonous Scheme

Translation by: Weebsread👹

“Tai Xuan Holy Land, the humiliation you’ve heaped on me today—I swear, one day I’ll repay it a hundredfold!”

Lin Feng’s voice rang out, bitter and furious, echoing through the grand hall. Events had spiraled far beyond his control, his most closely guarded secret laid bare before the watching crowd. Powerless to change the outcome, all he could do was rage, his anger boiling over for all to see.

Feng Taicang frowned, his tone turning cold. “Su He, even three drops of Nine-Turn Phoenix blood aren’t worth the price you’re demanding. You’re asking far too much for that Supreme Bone.”

“Hugging your treasure so tightly, refusing to compromise—if you offend Dao Tian Sect like this, what sect would dare associate with you in the future?”

But before he could continue arguing over the Nine-Turn Phoenix blood, Su He let out a chilly laugh, voice cutting through the tension.

“A Nine-Turn Phoenix Egg, is it? The ancient aura within the Supreme Bone that can awaken the Phoenix bloodline—is that what you’re after?”

“Do you really think I’m in the dark? That everyone outside Dao Tian Sect and their lackeys is a fool?”

As Su He’s words fell, Feng Taicang’s expression shifted dramatically.

“Y-You… What are you trying to do?”

“What am I trying to do? The Supreme Bone is in my hands. This is the good fortune of Tai Xuan Holy Land. I’ll decide what happens to it!”

Su He’s sneer grew colder, his gaze like a winter wind.

Even Feng Taicang couldn’t help but feel a surge of panic. The Nine-Turn Phoenix Egg was the true prize—Dao Tian Sect had only acted after learning of this secret. The plan, once so certain, had been thrown into chaos by Su He’s unexpected appearance.

If things fell apart now, Lin Feng might escape Gu Qingxuan’s wrath, but Feng Taicang would be left to shoulder the consequences alone.

“I warn you: this time it’s not just the Jade Void Immortal Sect. Experts from Cangyun Mountain and Yunyao Cavern are also on their way. If you dare try anything, don’t blame us for being merciless!”

Cangyun Mountain and Yunyao Cavern were both major sects—while not quite on Tai Xuan Holy Land’s level, together they could challenge Su He. They were Dao Tian Sect’s backup plan.

The air in the hall grew thick with tension. The situation had become dangerously tangled, and many feared that Tai Xuan Holy Land might soon clash with the other sects. If a fight broke out, everyone would pay a heavy price.

But Su He saw through their every move.

“The Phoenix Egg only responds to the Supreme Bone. If I don’t go, do you really think anyone else can hatch it?”

At this, Lin Feng and Feng Taicang exchanged a sharp, knowing glance.

A venomous idea flickered in Lin Feng’s eyes.

“Su He, if you have the courage, come find us. We’ll be waiting for you in the Northern Ten-Thousand Mountains—any time!”

If Su He wanted this fortune, he’d have to prove he was worthy. Lin Feng was certain: once the elite cultivators from all three sects gathered in the Northern Ten-Thousand Mountains, their combined strength would be more than enough to settle the score. Su He would be struck down, and the Supreme Bone would once again be his.

“Fine! Then I’ll go!”

Su He laughed, bold and unrestrained, seeing through Lin Feng’s scheme at a glance. With someone as transparent as Lin Feng, it was hardly a challenge.

Feng Taicang shot Lin Feng a look of surprise, but Lin Feng gave a subtle signal in return. At once, Feng Taicang understood his intentions.

“Su He, since you’ve agreed, we’ll await you in three days. Don’t disappoint us.”

“Of course.”

With Su He’s promise, Feng Taicang gave a cold snort and swept away, Lin Feng following at his side.

As they soared through the skies, Feng Taicang spoke quietly to Lin Feng.

“Bringing Su He here wasn’t the wisest decision. If he discovers the Phoenix Egg’s hiding place, our entire plan could unravel.”

“The Supreme Bone is in his hands. Without it, we’re powerless.”

Lin Feng’s hatred for Su He was at its peak. He wanted nothing more than to tear Su He apart, but for the moment, he lacked the strength. Still, with Dao Tian Sect’s power behind him, he was certain they could destroy Su He.

“That could work—but we’ll need to wait until he hatches the Phoenix Egg.”

“Exactly. We can’t let him form a bond with it. Start gathering every rare spirit herb and mystical treasure we have. We’ll need them all.”

Hatching the Nine-Turn Phoenix Egg would require an immense amount of energy—only the rarest spirit herbs and treasures would suffice. Cangyun Mountain and Yunyao Cavern, both eager for a share of the Nine-Turn Phoenix blood, had each contributed their own troves of treasures to fuel the process and strengthen the egg as much as possible. The Jade Void Immortal Sect had done the same.

As for Dao Tian Sect, they’d gone to great lengths to ensure Lin Feng’s success, sparing no expense in preparing a Qiankun Lock for him. Once the newborn phoenix was bound by the Qiankun Lock, it would be forced to acknowledge Lin Feng as its master—a tremendous stroke of fortune and a powerful ally for his cultivation.

Su He still remembered how, in the original course of events, Lin Feng was meant to gain an exceptional guardian. But by draining too much Nine-Turn Phoenix blood and exploiting the newborn’s power recklessly, the phoenix’s potential was squandered. When it finally emerged, it was only a Martial Master—far from what it could have been. Eventually, it was drained even further, becoming little more than an exhausted tool, its strength wasted away.

Before long, Lin Feng and Feng Taicang reached the heart of the Northern Ten-Thousand Mountains.

There, waiting for them, stood a man and a woman.

The man was short and stocky, his face sallow and square. He wore black Daoist robes embroidered with a single cloud motif—Sun Changqing, Mountain Lord of Cangyun Mountain.

The woman was beautiful and alluring, her eyes bright and sharp. She wore a flowing pale yellow gown patterned with drifting clouds—Liu Lian, Mistress of Yunyao Cavern.

Both had arrived early, eager to win favor with Dao Tian Sect.

“Mountain Lord Sun, Mistress Liu,” Feng Taicang greeted, clasping his fists.

The two nodded in return, but their eyes quickly shifted to Lin Feng. They’d already heard plenty of rumors about his background—whispers of a connection to Dao Tian Sect’s Sect Master. Their attitudes were eager, their words warm.

“So this is Lin Feng? Remarkable—so young, yet already at the peak of Martial Disciple. Your future knows no bounds.”

“I’ve long heard Dao Tian Sect had discovered a peerless genius. Seeing you today, I see the rumors were true.”

Their flattery made Feng Taicang twitch with irritation. Lin Feng’s cultivation was impressive for his age, but every major sect had their own prodigies no less extraordinary. Their words were simply an attempt to curry Dao Tian Sect’s favor.

Feng Taicang himself had once thought to build a good relationship with Lin Feng, hoping to secure a powerful ally for Jade Void Immortal Sect. But after witnessing Lin Feng’s true nature, he was left disappointed. Lin Feng seemed the type to betray his benefactors, ungrateful and self-serving. Even if he helped Lin Feng rise, he doubted the boy would ever repay the Jade Void Immortal Sect’s kindness.

He had to admit: Su He’s revelations back in the main hall had left a deep mark on him. He’d glimpsed a side of Lin Feng he’d never seen before.
